Coaching

Using more pragmatic and behaviorally oriented strategies than normally present in traditional, individual psychotherapy, coaching is emerging as another form of help that can benefit many individuals with ADHD.

Coaching involves an ongoing relationship between client and coach that is goal-based and individualized for each client. Coaching can focus on a variety of aspects of a clientís life including relations, work, exercise, nutrition, stress management and/or recreational needs.

Coaching can help individuals with ADHD to:

bulletPlan and set goals
bulletBecome organized, learn time management skills and how to prioritize
bulletDevelop and maintain focus and concentration
bulletCreate and maintain medication logs
bulletUtilize external structure, social support and encouragement
bulletWork on social skills
bulletHandle ADHD issues in the workplace
